ARROZ ALA CUBANA

Arroz Ala Cubana

Arroz Ala Cubana is a dish mostly eaten in many Spanish speaking countries. Its defining ingredients are steamed rice, fried egg and fried banana. Arroz Ala Cubana has been eaten in the Philippines since Spanish colonial times.


INGREDIENTS


  • 500g ground beef
  • 200g mixed vegetable
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 2 tbsp garlic, chopped
  • 1 tbsp onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • cooking oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 bananas



PROCEDURE

  1. In a large cooking pan, saute onion and garlic until soft.
  2. Add in the ground beef and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. Add salt and pepper, to taste.
  4. Add oyster sauce and mix well.
  5. Put-in mixed vegetables and mix until well combined. Cook for another 8 to 10 minutes.
  6. Lastly, add in raisins and mix. Adjust seasoning according to taste.
  7. Transfer in individual plates with steamed rice, fried egg and fried banana.
  8. Serve and Enjoy!

ALL DAY BREAKFAST DELIGHT

All Day Breakfast Delight

The omelette is one of the easiest and most inexpensive meals, and it works beautifully for breakfast, lunch or dinner. An omelette or omelet is a dish made from beaten eggs fried with butter or oil in a frying pan (without stirring as in scrambled egg). It is quite common for the omelette to be folded around a filling such as cheese, onion, vegetables, mushrooms, meat (often ham or bacon), or some combination of the above. Whole eggs or sometimes only egg whites are beaten with a small amount of milk, cream, or even water.


INGREDIENTS

  •  4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup boiled chicken breast, diced
  • 3 tbsp chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp green bell pepper
  • 1/3 cup button mushroom, thinly sliced
  •  2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/3 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper, to taste



PROCEDURE

  1. Preheat shallow non-stick pan.
  2. Heat oil and saute onion till wilted.
  3. Add in bell pepper, mushroom and chicken breast.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then set aside.
  5. Beat the eggs and season.
  6. Heat oil and pour in eggs. Cook till eggs are softly set, about 2 minutes.
  7. Add chicken breast mixture.
  8. Then sprinkle cheese on top and continue to heat through 1 minute.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!

CHOCOLATE BROWNIES

CHOCOLATE BROWNIES

A brownie is a square, baked, chocolate dessert. Brownies come in a variety of forms and may be either fudgy or cakey, depending on their density. They may include nuts, frosting, cream cheese, chocolate chips, or other ingredients. A variation made with brown sugar rather than chocolate in the batter is called a blonde brownie or blondie. The brownie was developed in the United States at the end of the 19th century and popularized in the U.S. and Canada during the first half of the 20th century.

INGREDIENTS

  •  1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt


PROCEDURE

  1. Preheat oven to 350F (180C). Beat butter and sugar together until grainy.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla extract and continue beating until fluffy.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.
  4. Add flour mixture to butter mixture. Blend only until combined (do not over-mix).
  5. Grease a 5" x 9" baking pan with melted butter then sprinkle with flour to coat surface . Tap off excess flour.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
  8. Let cool then cut into squares.
  9. Enjoy!

CHICKEN DIVAN

CHICKEN DIVAN

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 kg chicken breast, cut into cubes
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 3/4 cup button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp canola oil




PROCEDURES

  1. Saute garlic and onion in oil.
  2. Add chicken and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Add in broccoli and mushroom and saute until cooked.
  4. Add cream of mushroom soup and bring to boil then reduce heat to simmer.
  5. Add mayonnaise, lemon juice and curry powder.
  6. Add 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese. Stir until melted.
  7. Add cornstarch dissolved in cold water.
  8. Season with salt according to your taste.
  9. Transfer to a deep baking dish. Then top with the remaining cheese.
  10. Bake in a 350F oven until browned on top.
  11. Serve hot and Enjoy!
